Hey, Ya'll! I'm Alfrea... 

I'm a homeschooling mom of two kiddos. We have been homeschooling in some capacity for three years. Even when my kids were in school, we did most of our "learning" at home.

If I had to sum up our homeschool into a few words, I would say that it is an "exquisite blend of unit studies, modified unschooling, real-world immersion, and road schooling" all in one. We pretty much do a little bit of everything. 

I started Melanated Gold Homeschool Magazine because homeschooling can be a challenge when done alone. We are so much better together!  It is refreshing to be able to interact with others who share our struggles and our triumphs. As a bonus, connecting with other homeschooling families with similar physical characteristics is the icing on the cake.
